Waterdeep is a city in north-west Faerûn, named for its surrounding of sea and its deep water harbor. It was also known as the 'City of Splendors'. It is a very succesful city in terms of trade. Due to its popularity, it is the home of many different races, alignments, and religious beliefs. Those who live in Waterdeep is known as Waterdhavians. In the Baldur's Gate series, Waterdeep is only mentioned, and in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, a common saying among merchants is 'My prices are the best South of Waterdeep'.
