In 2000, Piper Halliwell became infected with Oroya Fever. In order to save their sister's life, Prue and Phoebe cast the Awakening Spell. However, as a side effect, the spell animated the Ninja Doll they used in the ritual and it began spreading the disease. In order to stop an outbreak, the sisters realized they had to reverse the awakening spell with this spell. Prue astral projected to the manor from their quarantine room and she and Phoebe cast the spell. Piper then fell into a coma again and nearly died, though Leo Wyatt healed her before her spirit could move on.
