Post-season analysis revealed that a low originally believed to be non-tropical actually was a subtropical depression. The low developed off the Southeast Coast and acquired subtropical characteristics on September 23 as it trekked northwestward. On September 25, the system became extratropical as it moved across the Carolinas, but continued to produce heavy rains.
