Yes. They have to wait about 3 days to re-spawn though. This makes it easy to clear the fort/cavern/what-have-you of monsters. I often leave little "caches" of loot around in piles I can then go back in and retrieve to ensure I get the full benefits/money out of them before the fort respawns the monsters.
