Lwaxana later became pregnant with Jeyal's child. Jeyal had agreed with Troi that since she was Betazoid the strict Tavnian laws regarding children would not apply. However, he changed his mind and told her he would take the child from her and raise him himself, as in Tavnian society boys were raised by men and girls by women. Jeyal's son Barin was born in 2373.
