The World's End Estate is located in Chelsea, West London. It takes it's grim name from a public house called The World's End Tavern located in the centre of the area on the King's Road. The name of which was a common pub name where the building housing it was located at the traditional boundary of towns and cities. A pub of the same name remains on the site that was rebuilt in the early 1900's The estate was approved in 1969 and was finally completed in 1977. It contains 742 flats in seven tower blocks connected by a low rise podium:
