The lantern is a light source and is used for attracting Light creatures in the Tears of Guthix cavern. Players need to use these creatures to traverse the cavern in the Tears of Guthix quest. The lantern can be made at any time, independent of quests and activities, as long as the Crafting level is 49. Note: You do not need level 49 crafting if you just swap the lens in an already completed lantern for a cut sapphire.
