The Apollo was commissioned in the San Francisco Fleet Yards and is on her first five-year mission. Her current commander is Captain Allister McGann. This ship was used in Starfleet Academy bridge crew training simulations for the Class of 2288, and as such was "destroyed" in a simulated mission by the Miranda-class light cruiser, USS Tempest.
