Sheila Flynn was a friend of Wendy Nightingale’s and bumped into her husband Roger one morning just after he had dropped Wendy off at work in Manchester. In an awkward conversation, Sheila either accidentally or maliciously, revealed to Roger for the first time that his wife was having an affair, although she claimed that she thought that Roger knew of the dalliance. Furious, he demanded to know who the other man was. Roger eventually traced Ken Barlow to 11 Coronation Street and, after following Wendy there, entered the house, attacked Ken and dragged Wendy home.
