The First Spiritual War was fought between the allied Gotei 13, Ryū Order and independent groups against Averian's Army, which was led by a Battle Doll masquerading as an ancient enemy of the Soul Society. Many individuals made their name and power known during this period, specifically Kenji Hiroshi, his friends Van Satonaka and Kei Yume, and also Kusaka Kori, who ended up killing Averian's Battle Doll at the war's conclusion. The events that comprise this period are depicted near the end of Part I of Bleach (Kenji Hiroshi), and completely comprise the events of Part II, making up one-half of Bleach: War of the Worlds.
