Donnie Quixote is a brave knight and send-up of the famous literary character, Don Quixote, who appears in an episode of Bert and Ernie's Great Adventures. Ernie and Bert's latest adventure makes them squires to Quixote, who is off to save a fair damsel in distress. However, he loses his glasses, which greatly affects his vision. He now sees his donkey, Fred, as the damsel and his squires must stop him as he envisions a plant and windmill as large creatures he must stop. Ernie eventually saves the day by using his and Bert's vest laces to secure Donnie's glasses to his face.
