The Novels of the Jaran, also known as the Jaran Series, are a series of Speculative Fiction novels by Kate Elliot. They are set an unspecified amount of time into the future, when humanity discovered interstellar travel and was absorbed into the enormous Chapalii Empire, an empire ruled by the long-lived and patient Chapalii. Meanwhile, Charles is slowly plotting rebellion against the Empire, determined to free humanity from their grip once and for all.
