Lanling Wang (蘭陵王) is a decorative title of the historical Chinese general [//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Gao Changgong] (高長恭) from the Northern and Southern Dynasties who died in AD 573. He is the main character of the famous Nuo Opera Lanling Wang Ru Zhen Qu (Lanling Wang Proceeding to Battlefield). It was popular during the Sui and Tang Dynasties. The original score and dancing was lost in China for thousand year but was preserved in Japan.
