JY-834 was a human who served as a stormtrooper in the First Order. After capturing the Resistance pilot Poe Dameron in Tuanul on the planet Jakku, JY-834 along with FN-2198, FN-3156 and HX-1072 performed a scan of Dameron's T-70 X-wing fighter and reported that they found nothing of significance.
