In the year 2371, a group of Ogla, led by Maje Jal Jabin, had established a mining settlement on the planet Ocampa were they were mining cormaline deposits. When Voyager threatened to destroy the Caretaker's Array, Jabin led a small task force against the starship to prevent them doing so. However, Voyager was able to hold them off and destroy the array. Jabin declared that Captain Kathryn Janeway had made an enemy of the Kazon. (VOY episode & novelization: Caretaker)
