Bill Pickering (full name William Harold Pickering) was a defender who made 215 league appearances for Rovers between 1931 and 1937, scoring just one goal during that period, and was a member of the team that won the Division Three (South) Cup during the 1934-35 season. Pickering died in Warley in the West Midlands in 1971, aged 69.
