Tamagotchi characters native to Makkakka town have a red glow to them. While this primarily includes the new characters added to the Akai Tamagotchi, it also extends to characters raised there that normally do not have this attribute, such as Mametchi. Characters visiting the town must enter via red sea, resulting in them taking on this appearance, though it can be washed off later on. The town gets its name from its blood red sun, high temperatures, and the red wine river that flows throughout the town. Makkakka Town is similar to the Italian city of Venice.
