The Red Dragon is an enemy in Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. It is a dangerous foe early on in the game, and if the player is underleveled, as its physical attacks deal a significant amount of damage, or it can attack the entire party with Thermal Rays for major Fire-elemental damage. Having Fire-elemental resistant equipment is recommended for dealing with these fearsome foes, and if the player has them, weapons such as the Dragon Claws and Loki's Lute help significantly. Red Dragons follow a strict pattern of Attack > Attack > Thermal Rays, and then loops back at the first Attack.
