Rodrigo Cornejo was the illegitimate son of Esteban Cornejo and Iuchi Maiko. The scandal of his birth caused Maiko's husband to challenge Esteban to a duel. Esteban killed Maiko's husband and then leapt from the cliffs at Kyuden Gotei out of shame. He was later known only as the bandit Rodrigo.
