Dean Layfield (April 16, 1919 - August 25, 1961) was a NASCAR driver from Wellsville, NY. He competed in eight Nextel Cup Series events in his career, earning one top-ten. Layfield's debut came in 1957, when he competed at Syracuse. Layfield made quite an impression, starting 9th in the field of twenty-four and completing all but three laps in route to a career-best 4th place finish.
