The Glass Desert, according to the January 2009 Revision of Random Kingdom III, is a term used for a large stretch of desert land, encompassing the syrian and Sahara deserts, resulting from the nuclear bombardment of the Ottoman Empire during World War Zero. The region was originally a "conventional" sand desert and now the sand has turned into trinitite over large stretches of the surface, owing to the heat of the nuclear explosions. The glass desert in its entirety lies within the Islamic Union. The Iron Pyramid, introduced in the January 2012 Revision, ancestral home of the Lamia bloodline of vampires lies in the north african portion of the glass desert, although the the exact location is not deductable from the Revision (the term "Lybia" denoting entire north africa).
