During Plague's End, Sir Edmond and Sir Hugo come to West Ardougne and find that the local citizenry and an adventurer have removed the mourners from power and seized control of their headquarters. Sir Edmond sees Halgrive's proclaimation, and agrees to help remove King Lathas from power by leading his knights and heroes against the paladins and warrior women who fight for King Lathas. After King Lathas is removed by the adventurer, Sir Edmond takes control of Ardougne castle.
