"The Observer Effect" is a short story by Squibstress. It was written for the 2012 Minerva Fest on LiveJournal. The title refers to a term that describes a phenomenon in particle and quantum physics whereby the act of observing or measuring a parameter, object, or event will change it. "The Observer Effect" was nominated as "Best Darkfic" in the Fall/Winter 2012 HP Fanfic Fanpoll Awards. It was a featured story on Mugglenet Fanfiction.
