Prunella Margaret Rumney Illingworth, CBE, was born on 22nd June, 1932. Still most famous for the part of Sybil Fawlty in the 1970s sit-com Fawlty Towers, she has a long career as an actress stretching from the 1960s to the present. In recent years she has appeared in the long running Radio 4 comedy Ladies of Letters. In Coronation Street she played bus conductress Eileen Hughes, who sought the attentions of Harry Hewitt during early 1961.
