Gary Soetaert was a Canadian defenceman who was drafted 1st, 8th overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 1974 WHA Amateur Draft. He was born on May 1, 1957. He played for the Edmonton Oil Kings, Brandon Wheat Kings, and the Kamloops Chiefs of the Western Hockey League from 1972-77. Soetaert only played 8 games in the International Hockey League and no other games in the pros.
