As it says on the mission sheet at the beginning, one 50. cal weapon is issued to each platoon, so he is the platoon gunner. Worrel never dies, and if you fire at him, he will move, and wherever he goes, he is still trying to man the 50. Cal that he is assigned to man. Worrel doesn't really do anything but firing his MG and stopping some Germans getting through at center flank, except the two that come through, because they have flanked through breach in the line. He survived the onslaught and assigned as Bastogne guard unit with 82nd while rest of the regiment staging counterattack.
