The Bombing of the Jedi Temple was an attack directed on the Jedi Praxeum which caused the destruction of the Massassi Temple on Yavin IV in 23 ABY. The New Republic already being present above the jungle moon of Yavin to pressure the Jedi Council in submitting to the Jedi Registration Act, led by Admiral Hehl'new were unable to prevent the attacks due to confusion between arriving and departing vessels which challenged and escaped Helh'new's policy of inspecting and boarding ships coming to and from Yavin IV.
