Cedric is both employed by Crispin, as both his familiar, servant, and companion to the ancient and powerful high wizard Crisinophur. He is the wizard's friend and aide-de-camp, and has lived with the wizard since both first withdrew from the Other World (Earth) several millennia before. Some say his master lead the first withdrawal as well. Rumor's persist that Cedric is actually the famous owl Archimedes under an assumed alias, and that his master is the famous Merlin, though these have not be substantiated. If anything he is a wise advisor to his friend and master.
