Former Pittsburgh city councilman, convicted felon, and current vice chairman of the county committee, Ben Woods, wrote a letter announcing his intention to run as chairman in the June, 2006 election. He lost that election. Chairwoman Jean Milko has been letting people know via word of mouth that she wants another term, to being in 2006. And a third candidate, Allegheny County Councilman Jim Burn won the election.
