Gutter punch is a slang term for a trick punch thrown in the NES version of Punch-Out!!. In this version of the game, your opponents determine which part of their body to guard based on the D-pad input. By tapping up briefly and then quickly executing a hook, you can score a hit when the computer opponent raises his gloves to guard his face. This technique works on many opponents.
