The Naked Hill was an extinct volcano in southwestern Mirkwood.Originally it had been a dwarven Mine but later delved within the volcano's shrouded heights was the vast and terrible stronghold of Dol Guldur, the sanctuary of the Necromancer.No trees grew on the upper slopes of the hill , leaving it exposed above the leafy canopy of the forest.
