The dinosaur appeared to gather strength from being hit by Starfleet phasers on stun. However, the underside of its neck proved to be a weak point. At some point before 2269, James T. Kirk witnessed such a dinosaur while on Canopus III. At least one specimen was in the collection of the Lactra VII zoo. (TAS: "The Eye of the Beholder")
