In 3,921 BrS, the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Malak, arranged an ambush for the young Jedi Padawan Bastila Shan, whose skill in the art of battle meditation had been essential to the war effort of the Galactic Republic against the Sith Empire. Successful in the device's recovery, Revan returned the engine to Thek and was allowed to compete in the Season Opener. After Revan won the race, Brejik accused the Beks of cheating and claimed that the prize would not be given over to the winner. Brejik and his comrades then initiated a brawl, but were defeated by Revan and Shan, who had freed herself.
