The Tarloc Arcane Asylum is an abandoned insane asylum for mad spell casters located by the coast to the north of Tarloc. The Asylum was constructed about 200 years ago, shortly after the defeat of Kheldom at the Red Field. At first it was meant to hold insane mages so there would not be a 'new Kheldom'. Eventually, the Asylum came to house many other inmates, not just crazy wizards and sorcerers, but dangerous criminals and other lunatics as well.
