Abaran met James T. Kirk and Spock upon their arrival on the starbase. He was tasked with escorting them to Daniels' office and assuring the temporary surrender of their weapons, apparently the base's official policy. Later, he met and briefed them just outside the base's shuttlebay before they entered it to begin clearing out the Gorn inside. He was killed by the Gorn.
