Helen Aster was the grandmother of Corey and Jeremy Aster. Her son Ronald died in 2361 to Rushton infection, while his wife, her daughter-in-law Marla Aster, was killed in 2366 on an away team mission from the USS Enterprise-D. (TNG: "The Bonding") She gained custody of Jeremy and Corey in 2367 after Jeremy's guardians and Corey's parents, Lee and Amy Aster were killed aboard the USS Melbourne at the Battle of Wolf 359.
