Love Me Like You Do was released mainly as a buzz/airplay promo for AJG's debut album AJG. The song had already recieved ammounts of feedback and was highly anticipated since before it was leaked in May of 2008. With the ammount of buzz recieved SB Records decided it best to release it as soon as possible so as when the scheduled release was issued, it wouldn't slope the charts for being considered too old. The song managed to peak at #9 on main-genre and once again became a #1 hit on the soundclick sub-genre charts. As late as September, the song was ranked the best song on Flyboi's album through a poll on his myspace.
