By the standards of the later civilizations on the planet, Southfar was highly advanced, possessing such technologies as terra-forming, cybernetics and advanced genetic engineering. The Shebans were also keen researchers of psionics. At some point in the planet's past, the psionic research in Sheba culminated in the "empowering" of seven individuals with great psionic powers - the Sourcers. Unfortunately, each of these individuals had very particular opinions on how the civilization should progress and how the rest of the planet should be proceeded with. This led to a series of intense magical wars, in which no single individual was able to dominate the others.
