Siafu are a type of African ants known for their large size. They, unlike other kinds of army ants, build ant mounds. They travel in large groups covering large expanses of ground. On one occasion a tourist's death was related to these ants. They can kill infants and chickens, but usually eat worms. Colonel Dovchenko was killed by these insects in The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. However, siafu don't live in Peru and aren't nearly as big as they were in the film.
