The Dog is the hunting dog from Duck Hunt. The Dog searches for ducks for you to shoot and when he finds something he will jump into the field causing the level to be played. If you shoot enough ducks you will go to the next level. If you fail to shoot enough ducks The Dog will rise up from the field laughing at you. This has caused a lot of hatred towards The Dog. There is a version of Duck Hunt where you can shoot The Dog. If you're playing the bonus game in Vs. Duck Hunt on the Arcade The Dog will be jumping around along with the ducks flying. If you shoot him he will come out in crutches telling you to shoot the ducks and not him.
