Egg Central was created as the successor to Millennium Creatures. It was much larger, more functional and more concise than the original site. However, it lacked the fun and personality of Millennium Creatures, and faced the problem of being launched at a time when there was a large backlash in the community against Creatures. The result was that the site lacked the 'heart' of a community site, though it stayed active for quite a while.
