Kate Quinn was the mother of Luke Quinn. In 2010 Quinny was in the armed forces and died in a roadside bomb whilst serving in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. Kate and her husband Ian arrived at 6 Coronation Street to talk to their son's colleague Gary Windass about how Quinny had died. As he finished recounting his story, Gary broke down in his mother's arms.
