In the early years of her career, she served with the Channel Squadron. On the outbreak of World War I she was assigned to the Ninth Cruiser Squadron operating in the Atlantic and in 1915 she was operating off Moudros, participating in the Dardanelles Campaign, for which she received the battle honour Dardanelles 1915 . She survived the War and was sold on 15 September 1920 and broken up in Genoa.
