The ultimate teachings of Mirumoto and Kakita were that the blade was a living thing, guided by the soul of samurai, and was bound by the will of the Heavens like antything else living. Mastery of the view of the world and its patterns led to the ultimate mastery of one's destiny, not the sword. The kata primed the samurai's soul to become an indomitable force that was assured that the outcome of the fight would be victory.
