PC Cox came to 4 Coronation Street to see the Websters after fifteen-year-old Sophie ran away in September 2010 after her lesbian relationship with Sian Powers had been revealed. She told the Websters that the vast majority of runaways came home safely but prevaricated with the answer when asked what happened to the others. She pushed Sally to tell her any reason why she would have left home, leading to her giving the answer in front of father-in-law Bill Webster who had been unaware until that point that the rumours about his granddaughter were true.
