A tree stump monster came to life through Mother Nature's lightning in the cartoon show episode "Monster Smurfs" on the day of Spook-A-Smurf Eve. He hid himself among the Smurfs who were also changed into monsters by Brainy through using Papa Smurf's magic dust and joined their Spook-A-Smurf Eve celebration, falling in love with Smurfette, who assumed that he was a Smurf transformed into a monster. However, when Papa Smurf changed all his little Smurfs back into their original forms, the tree stump monster was revealed to be a real monster and ran off into the forest carrying Smurfette. But the tree stump monster was more afraid of Smurfette as he hid himself from her on a high ledge, until the real Azrael came along to threaten her life, which was when he jumped down to scare the cat away
