The Fukui Astronomical Institute is a scientific and educational institute based on Earth. Some of the Federation's most brilliant minds work at the Fukui Institute, most notably Seven of Nine. In early 2381, the F.A.I. discovered an unusual spatial anomaly in the Mutara sector nicknamed the "Fountain of Possibilities."
