Farmer Collett submitted a complaint about Thomas' branch line splitting the bridleway he uses to travel to the village in two. The Fat Controller had the idea of buying a cheap turntable from the Mainland to use as a bridge to cross the line. Thomas then named it, "Turntable Bridge". It first appeared in the 2000 magazine story, Turntable Bridge!.
