Zach Banner was a Starfleet officer. Zach was the son of another Starfleet officer by the name of Robert Banner. He entered Starfleet Academy in 2254 and four years later after his graduation he was assigned as navigator of the USS Eagle with the rank of ensign. On his way to the Eagle he met his friend Michele Tyler. Later she introduced him to another cadet named Clause Elberg, the three soon became friends. (Star Trek: Eagle)
