The Skal Torr was a Vulcan science ship that was operational in the 24th century. In 2370, the Skal Torr was under the command of Captain T'Lal and dispatched to rendevous with the USS Enterprise in order to retrieve Master scientist Skel as well as the Hydrillian sector artifacts. The entities had, however, infected the crew of the Enterprise and sought to take over new hosts on the Skal Torr but the actions of several of the uninfected Enterprise crew prevented this from happening. (TNG novel: Possession) The name of the class was not explained in the novel beyond having a sleek design.
